The purpose
A near-infrared device pairs with the app to read your skin and translate it into one number people can feel: skin age vs. biological age. Inspired by Whoop's recovery and Oura's readiness — a daily vanity metric that also flags what's off.
Skincare is crowded with metrics. We collapse hydration, barrier, elasticity, evenness, and UV exposure into a single editorial numeral — then expose the underlying signals only when you want them.
Day-to-day shifts matter more than the absolute number. The app surfaces what changed (extra sun, dehydration) and ties it to a single recommended product — the loop that lets this live on a Sephora shelf.
Warm neutrals, editorial serif, generous whitespace. Closer to Aesop and Alo than to a fitness tracker. The device and its app should feel at home on the vanity, next to the serum — not buried in a health dashboard.
